Persons and facilities
The lecturers are from the Polytechnic Department of Engineering and Architecture (DPIA) with qualified preparation and experience, gained in the university teaching activities carried out in recent years in the degree courses in Mechanical Engineering, Management Engineering and Industrial Engineering for Environmental Sustainability. All the reference lecturers will belong to the basic or characterising SSDs of the Mechanical Engineering and Management Engineering degree courses and will be holders of specific teachings of the new master's degree.
The Degree Course in "Engineering for a Sustainable Manufacturing Industry" will be hosted in the facilities of the University of Udine (all air-conditioned and equipped with video projection systems, audio amplification and Internet connection).
The following laboratories are available at the DPIA:
- Mechanical Design Laboratory (structural calculation codes, CAD and MultiPhysics, extensometry and optical methods for stress analysis),
- Chemical Process Engineering Laboratory (industrial catalysis processes, decarbonisation, hydrogen),
- Advanced Materials Science and Technology Laboratory (microscopes and instrumentation for materials analysis),
- Mechatronics and Robotics Laboratory (industrial robots, collaborative robots and mobile robots),
- The newly established Industrial Engineering for Environmental Sustainability Teaching Laboratory.
- Laboratory of Advanced Mechatronics, containing precision measuring machines and advanced machinery for the additive manufacturing of metals
The master's degree will also use of the laboratories (academic, corporate and mixed) located at Uniud Lab Village.
Finally, it is worth mentioning that the DPIA has for years been carrying out collaborations with companies interested in the teaching initiative, in the form of conventions, research contracts, internships and theses.
